GabrielaGabriela, 17, is a 10th grader who loves to sing and dance and is quite musically inclined. Gabriela has begged her parents for piano lessons, and it breaks their hearts to have to say "no". Her parents work hard and provide a good home, but their income just barely covers the cost of rent for their meager apartment, groceries, utilities, gas and insurance for their car.

TWLP Student Enrichment Grants help kids like Gabriela achieve their dreams of learning new skills like playing the piano.  An investment of just $500 can help Gabriela develop discipline, patience and reduce her stress while giving her a head start toward becoming the musician she wishes to be.

LauraLaura, 18, is a senior in high school and a homeless teen in need of assistance. Despite her circumstances, Laura is preparing to graduate from high school this spring. She's looking for a part time job, and is a good student who tries to stay focused on her education, despite the challenges of caring for herself, keeping herself safe, and paying for the extra things that make senior year special.  Laura enjoys walking and reading, and tutors students at the local elementary school. Laura plans to attend College of the Sequoias in the fall as a Social Work or Pre-Veterinary major. She is the first in her family to go on to college.

Thanks to generous donors, we are able to grant Laura's wish of attending her senior prom with her friends. From the dress and shoes to the prom tickets and pictures, this is an event that she will remember for the rest of her life.

TWLP Student Grants make a difference for kids like Laura who just want to know what it's like to be a regular kid.

Aaron NegreteAaron, 13, is an 8th grader who enjoys video gaming, swimming and hanging out with friends. He also happens to be confined to a wheelchair due to a birth defect. Aaron is described as a personable and positive young man who would like to do better in school. His wish is to attend Camp C.O.O.L. (Camp Challenge Ourselves through Outdoor Leisure) this winter. The program allows young people like Aaron a two-day, one-night residential camp experience learning to downhill ski. However, his mom is a single parent raising six children. Her limited income from housekeeping work is not enough to pay the $325 registration fee.

TWLP Student Enrichment Grants program can be the difference between Aaron being given this opportunity or not. Please consider helping us fulfill Aaron's dream of expanding his abilities rather than focused on his limitations.

Joel DiazJoel, 17, is a high school senior with a love of all things cars. He likes to work on cars, drive cars, and "drifting" is his number one hobby. Joel lives on his own with an older sibling as his guardian. He works at a part time job and is self-supporting while trying to save enough to attend trade school. His goal is to become a mechanic. With Joel's limited income and lack of parental support, there's no way he can afford to pay for extra things like attending senior prom.

TWLP Student Enrichment Grants program can provide a tuxedo rental and prom tickets for this deserving young man, but only with your help.

AvionnaAvionna, 11, is a sixth grader who loves to draw and be creative. What she doesn't love is math. She has poor school attendance and is working below grade level. She struggles with self-confidence and needs more help with her school work. Her mom is a single parent to Avionna and her five siblings, which makes it difficult to provide extra educational support. That's where TWLP comes in. Funding for a laptop will allow Avionna to access the math curriculum at home, helping her improve her fluency and understanding of the subject matter, and in turn raising her confidence levels.

Angel JacksonAngel, 17, is a senior in high school and often volunteers - giving blood regularly, acting as a tour guide to incoming freshman, and helping out in the culinary arts program at her school by waitressing during events. Angel is also a born performer and loves acting on stage, and writing and sharing her poetry. She plans to attend college in the fall and major in Theater Arts. But before she graduates, Angel’s wish is to be able to enjoy typical experiences of being a 12th grader like attending prom and having friends sign her yearbook. Unfortunately, Angel is being raised by her grandmother who can’t afford to pay for prom or a yearbook.

TWLP Student Enrichment Grants program can provide these experiences for Angel. But we need your help. A gift of any amount will help ensure that young people like Angel are given access to milestones like these that will create positive memories to last a lifetime.

Joseph AcostaJoseph, 14, is an 8th grader who loves video games, movies and spending time with his friends. He also happens to be in a wheelchair, but it hasn't stopped him from pursuing things he enjoys. Being a little shy, but having a great sense of humor, Joseph wants to be more open to his abilities rather than his disabiities. That's why he'd like to attend Camp C.O.O.L. (Camp Challenge Ourselves through Outdoor Leisure) this winter. The program allows young people like Joseph a two-day, one-night residential camp experience learning to downhill ski. The cost for this life changing opportunity is $325, and though his family works hard, it would be a hardship to add this expense to their already stretched budget. Can you help Joseph get to camp?
